Our History

In the mid-1990s, while researching a piece on franchising for the Economist Intelligence Unit, FranchiseHelp's original founder Mary Tomzack was shocked to discover how little unbiased, honest advice existed for consumers looking to buy into a franchise system. Soon thereafter, Mary launched FranchiseHelp to provide consumers with guidance, research, and documents to help them through their franchise selection process.

In 2010 FranchiseHelp was acquired by Metric Collective, a franchise technology company based in Manhattan, New York City, which saw the opportunity to educate potential franchisees and help franchisors seeking trustworthy guidance in the digital franchise development world: hence FranchiseHelp's obsession with pushing the cutting edge of technology and digital marketing for the franchise industry.

And we're delighted to report it's all been working! FranchiseHelp has been ranked as one of the fastest-growing companies in America by Inc. Magazine 4x in a row (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) -- unprecedented for a frandev-focused marketing and technology company.
